The Cleveland Indians nipped the Toronto Blue Jays in 11 innings 7 to 6 at Municipal Stadium in a hard fought contest. The score was tied at 6 after nine. Cleveland ended up winning it in the 11th inning. Bruce Bochte drew a walk. Jim Norris stepped into the batter's box and he doubled giving Cleveland the victory and sending the 14,666 home-town fans home happy. Cleveland won despite being out-hit by Toronto 12 hits to 9.
The winning pitcher was Don Hood(5-4) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. The losing pitcher was Mike Willis(2-3) in relief. He allowed 1 run and 1 hit in 2 innings.
