1977 - April 25, Game 2 - BOSTON 9 @ TORONTO 2

Carl Yastrzemski rocketed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Boston Red Sox outscored the Toronto Blue Jays 9 to 2.

Yastrzemski had a great day at the plate. He doubled which was good for two runs in the 1st inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 2nd inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 5th of the season) in the 7th inning. Boston ended up with 13 hits for the game while Toronto had 8.

The win was credited to Bob Stanley(2-1) who went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs.

The loss was charged to Dave Lemanczyk(1-1). He allowed Boston 8 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings of work.

Yastrzemski said, 'It was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate tonight. You've got to take advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple pitches were definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.'
