1977 - April 25, Game 1 - BOSTON 10 @ TORONTO 6

Carl Yastrzemski went yard and had 3 RBI as the Boston Red Sox topped the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 10 to 6 at Exhibition Stadium.

Boston came up with 5 runs in the 7th inning with the help of 5 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Steve Dillard who disappointed the partisan crowd when he ripped a base-knock bringing in two baserunners. Boston had 14 hits overall, while Toronto had 10.

Jim Willoughby(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning. Willoughby got help from Bill Campbell who was credited with his 6th save.

Jerry Garvin(2-1) was given the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
