The Toronto Blue Jays nipped the Cleveland Indians 4 to 3 at Exhibition Stadium in a hard fought contest.
Toronto took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 7th inning plating an isolated run. Tom Bruno relieved and was untouched by Cleveland as he recorded the save, his 1st.
Pete Vuckovich(2-8) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and allowing 3 runs. Dennis Eckersley(6-5) absorbed the loss. He allowed 4 runs and 7 hits in 8 innings.
