Doyle Alexander(7-1) and Dave Lemanczyk(2-4) treated the Texas fans to a fine pitching duel at Arlington Stadium. The Texas Rangers eventually emerged as victors over the Toronto Blue Jays by the score of 3 to 1.
Alexander pitched a fine game. He went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 walks. Toronto proved to be no trouble in the 9th.
Mike Marshall recorded his 1st save.
