1977 - May 23, OAKLAND 3 @ TORONTO 2

Rick Langford allowed Jack McKeon to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Exhibition Stadium as the Oakland Athletics beat the Toronto Blue Jays by the count of 3 to 2.

Oakland came up with 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning when they had 3 base hits. They would be enough to earn the win. Toronto made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

The victory was credited to Langford(4-1) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs. Pete Vuckovich(0-6) was tagged with the loss. He surrendered 8 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings.

Roy Hartsfield was in a sour mood after the game. 'Even you guys up in the press box know why we lost this game. We made too many mistakes.'
