1977 - June 25, Game 1 - TORONTO 8 @ BALTIMORE 10

Ken Singleton had 4 hits and 5 RBI as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Toronto Blue Jays by the score of 10 to 8 at Memorial Stadium.


Singleton made sure the Baltimore fans enjoyed themselves. He lined a base-hit knocking in a run in the 3rd inning, laced a base-knock scoring two base runners in the 5th inning, laced a single scoring a run in the 6th inning and hit a bases-empty home run (his 8th of the season) in the 8th inning. Toronto threatened in the 9th but Baltimore was able to put down the rally.


The victory went to Dennis Martinez(4-3) who went 8 and 1/3 innings, allowing 7 runs. Jeff Byrd(0-2) was charged with the loss. He couldn't find the strike zone and allowed 8 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
