Ron Fairly smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Exhibition Stadium as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Detroit Tigers by the count of 8 to 4.
Fairly enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He blasted a solo shot in the 2nd inning and cracked a two-run shot in the 3rd inning. Toronto had 10 hits for the night while Detroit had 6.
The win was credited to Jeff Byrd(1-3) who went 7 innings allowing 3 runs. Dave Roberts(5-7) suffered the loss. He allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
