Thurman Munson lofted one into the 'cheap seats' as the New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 7 to 6.
Dick Tidrow(1-1) won the game with a masterful relief performance. He didn't allow much, just 3 hits and no walks in 5 and 2/3 innings. For the game NewYork out-hit Toronto 12 to 9.
Jesse Jefferson(0-2) absorbed the loss. He allowed a few too many base runners giving up 12 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. The New York ballclub's record now stands at 7-5.
Toronto continued their losing ways and their record is now 5-9. They are 2-8 in their last ten games.
