The Toronto Blue Jays snapped their 6 game slide and edged the Cleveland Indians at Municipal Stadium by the score of 4 to 3. Toronto came up with 3 runs in the top of the 5th inning with the help of 4 hits. They would be enough to earn the win. Cleveland threatened in the 9th but Toronto was able to put down the rally.
The win went to Jesse Jefferson(1-2) who allowed 3 runs in 8 innings. Jerry Johnson recorded the save, his 2nd. Al Fitzmorris(0-3) was the loser.
'We really needed this win' said Roy Hartsfield. 'That first drink of water at the end of a drought sure does taste good!'
