Lee May hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI as the Baltimore Orioles beat the slumping Toronto Blue Jays in 13 innings by a score of 7 to 5.
Both teams were tied at 3 runs a piece after nine innings. Baltimore won the hard fought contest in the 13th inning. Ken Singleton led off and started the rally when he drew a walk. Bumbry stole second with some aggressive baserunning. After an out was recorded, Eddie Murray came to the plate and laced a single, and an error was also committed. After another out, Doug Decinces came up and he lined a base-hit. Decinces took second on the throw. Toronto was set down quietly in the bottom of the 13th.
Dick Drago(3-4) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. The losing pitcher was Jerry Johnson(3-3) in relief. With this win, Baltimore has a 32-30 record. They have been 6-4 lately. Toronto has a record of 20-40 after the loss.
