Al Woods slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Toronto Blue Jays topped the Oakland Athletics by a score of 8 to 3 at Oakland Co Stadium.
Woods led the offense for Toronto. He cracked a two-run shot in the 2nd inning and smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 2nd of the season) in the 7th inning. Toronto had 11 hits overall, while Oakland had 8.
The win was credited to Jesse Jefferson(2-5) who went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs. Mike Willis recorded his 1st save. Rick Langford(4-2) was given the loss. He was unable to control the Toronto offense and allowed 6 hits and 3 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
