The Toronto Blue Jays toppled the Oakland Athletics by a 6 to 2 score at Oakland Co Stadium.
Toronto had 4 runs cross the plate in the 2nd inning with the help of 5 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Toronto rapped out 12 hits for the afternoon.
Dave Lemanczyk(3-5) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Jerry Johnson gained credit for his 5th save. Dock Ellis(3-4) was the losing pitcher. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 12 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.
