Larry Hisle had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Dave Goltz shutout Toronto while allowing the Minnesota bullpen a day-off at Metropolitan Stadium as the Minnesota Twins beat the Toronto Blue Jays 9 to 0.
Goltz(5-2) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He didn't allow much, just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 2.79 to 2.42. Minnesota rapped out 14 hits for the afternoon.
Bill Singer(1-5) was the losing pitcher. He was hit hard and gave up 10 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
