The Texas Rangers batters feasted on the Toronto Blue Jays pitching at Arlington Stadium. The final score was a lop-sided 16 to 2.
Bert Campaneris had a good evening at the plate. He stroked a single knocking in a run in the 2nd inning, doubled clearing the bases in the 3rd inning and banged out a one-base hit plating a run in the 6th inning. Texas provided plenty of action in the 3rd inning when they had 7 runs on 4 hits. Toronto was out-hit by Texas, 16 hits to 5.
Nellie Briles(2-2) allowed 2 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory. Jesse Jefferson(1-5) absorbed the loss. He surrendered 9 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings and saw his ERA increase from 5.66 to 6.06.
