One run was the difference at Arlington Stadium as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Texas Rangers 3 to 2.
In the 3rd inning Toronto scored 2 runs with the help of 3 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Roy Howell who silenced the stadium when he banged out a single which was good for two runs. For the game Toronto out-hit Texas 10 to 4.
Jerry Garvin(4-2) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Garvin got relief help from Pete Vuckovich who gained credit for his 2nd save. Bert Blyleven(5-4) was the loser.
