Rod Carew had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the blistering-hot Minnesota Twins defeated the Toronto Blue Jays by the score of 8 to 5 at Exhibition Stadium.
Geoff Zahn(4-1) pitched well enough to earn the win. He surrendered 13 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. Both teams ended up with 14 hits on the night.
Zahn got relief help from Ron Schueler who gained credit for his 2nd save. Dave Lemanczyk(2-2) was the loser. He allowed 11 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
It was another victory for Minnesota at Exhibition Stadium. Now their winning streak stands at 7 games.
