In an exciting finish the Toronto Blue Jays pulled out a win over the New York Yankees by a score of 5 to 4 at Exhibition Stadium.
Toronto won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. After an out was recorded, John Scott drew a walk. Al Woods came next and he hit asingle. Bob Bailor then lined a single making Toronto victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Toronto totaled 11 hits on the night.
The win was credited to Mike Willis(2-2) who went 2 innings allowing no runs. Ron Guidry(8-2) was the loser. Toronto now has a record of 24-46. With the loss New York now has a record of 41-31.
