Doug Rader left the yard and had 4 RBI as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the pitiful Detroit Tigers by the score of 12 to 5 at Exhibition Stadium.
The Toronto fans enjoyed the offense provided by Rader. He cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 3rd inning, doubled which was good for two runs in the 7th inning and laced a single in the 8th inning. Toronto out-hit Detroit for the game, 18 hits to 9.
Jesse Jefferson(4-9) was the winner allowing 1 run in 7 innings. Fernando Arroyo(3-11) suffered the loss. He was unable to control the Toronto offense and allowed 11 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
The Toronto ballclub's record now stands at 30-61. With the loss, Detroit has a record of 7-3 lately, 32-58 overall.
