Steve Stone went 8 strong innings as the Chicago White Sox defeated theToronto Blue Jays by the score of 6 to 3 at Comiskey Park.
Stone(1-1) gave Chicago a solid outing. He went 8 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 walk reducing his ERA from 4.50 to 3.94. The Toronto bats were silent in the 9th.
Dave Hamilton gained credit for his 1st save. Jesse Jefferson(0-1) was given the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 10 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.
