First baseman Doug Ault blasted a homerun as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the California Angels in 10 innings 2 to 1 at Exhibition Stadium.
Both teams were tied at 1 runs a piece after nine innings. Toronto won the hard fought contest in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Bob Bailor smacked a single. One out later, Ron Fairly came to the plate and doubled resulting in an exciting win for Toronto and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Toronto had 9 hits for the afternoon.
The winning pitcher was Jerry Johnson(3-2) who allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning. Dick Drago(1-4) was tagged with the loss in relief.
