Oscar Gamble rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Chris Knapp tossed a complete game as the Chicago White Sox beat the hopeless Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 10 to 2.
Gamble helped send the fans home happy. He lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 5th inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 7th inning. Chicago totaled 15 hits on the afternoon.
The winning pitcher was Knapp(4-6) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Bill Singer(2-7) was given the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
With this win, Chicago has a 47-38 record. They have been 4-6 lately. Still in a bad slump, with this loss, Toronto is 2-8 lately and 27-59, worst in the division on the year.
