Jack Brohamer hit 3 doubles and had 2 RBI at Comiskey Park as the struggling Toronto Blue Jays lost a heartbreaker to Chicago White Sox by the score of 7 to 6.
Chicago won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. After an out was recorded, Jorge Orta slapped a single, and an error was also committed. Dennis Debarr then bounced one in the dirt for a wild pitch. Oscar Gamble then ripped a base-knock resulting in an exciting win for Chicago and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Toronto scored in 5 different innings, but their shaky pitching kept them from victory.
The victory was credited to Lerrin Lagrow(6-5) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing 1run. Debarr(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 and 1/3 innings of work.
